Kapow Comic Con Part II

For most of the day after the 2000AD panel, I was in queues for signings, from Steve Dillion, Jonathan Ross, Paul Cornell and David Lloyd. Have to say David Lloyd was very pleasant and did a sketch for the wife, of a front image of V. Very cool.

He also pointed me in the direction of a book he did called Kickback. This went straight into my Amazon wishlist (thanks smartphone) and I have since ordered it for my wife's birthday. As she is a big David Lloyd fan, so will be chuffed to get this for her birthday (i hope).

We did try and get in the Green Lantern panel but we were unlucky getting in.

Never mind, it gave us time to roam the show floor. We had an interesting conversation with some of the dealers, so I'm now aware of Thought Bubble in Leeds, which sounded interesting. Think we might go there this year as well. They also said if you do the US cons, Wonder Con is really good, which is something we are thinking of doing.
After that, it was pretty much the end of the day and a trip back home. Exhausted but happy.

And then I'm back on Sunday (alone this time). This was pretty much more of the same. Meet great people in the queue outside and then back in the hall, this time with a plan to what I would be queuing for. The plan of attack was queue for Dave Gibbons, John Romita Jr and Mark Millar.

To make it more important our friends had a new baby boy, so I was on a mission to get Kick-Ass signed by MM and JR JR. Got JR JR to sign it and put on "Welcome to the World". However, Dave Gibbons was late to his signing as the charity lunch overrun, but he was very nice and apologetic. Really nice guy. Think the wife would have been really pleased to have meet him.

This made me miss the signing of MM (I missed out by 1 in the queue for that), so spent the rest of the show trying to get his signature. Have to say that Mr Millar was very nice and signed it and then talked to a few of us about the show and next years show. Poor guy had only had 4 hrs sleep but still was full of live and excited about the con.

So Sunday was a big success and really had a good time. Definitely going again next year.
