Better late than never: Adjustment Bureau

Well finally have made some time to write a review of the film. First thing, this is another film which has been advertised incorrectly. To say it's Bourne meets Inception is a grave mis-service to the film and audience it is trying to find. I was lucky as I had seen some reviews, which helped put the film in the right light.
The story is really a love story and the odds for (and against) true love winning out. Yes, the scifi (religious) elements are interesting and drives the story along but the main thrust is the relationship that develops between the 2 characters. The trailer mainly shows a lot of running, which to be fair does happen throughout the film but this is no Bourne. This is man running to fight off his so called destiny and catch up with the woman he knows deep down is the love if his life.
The love story is what I focused on and the 2 leads really click and feel natural. The scene where they race each other felt real and showed a natural chemistry between them. I can honestly say I enjoyed the film but I had not gone in expecting an action film. If I had I may not have enjoyed it as much.
The scifi element was interesting and the wife made an observation that I didn't agree with, which was the film was "pro-religion". I didn't see it that way. It almost seemed to say that religion can get it wrong but is also able to recognise that fact (please not I'm not deeply religious).
I would give the film 4* out of 5

Green Lantern update

Well, spoke to the comic store manager and it looks like no joy on the certificate. He was very helpful and explained that the piece was reduced when he got it. Hence why there is no certificate though he did say to try and get in touch with DC directly and see if they could provide it. That will be one if my tasks for this week.

I also saw the Adjustment Bureau at the weekend. Just a quick comment on it. Good film but badly advertised. Will write a more in-depth review later on

First Post

Hi, this is a quick first post as I'm typing this up at midnight, whilst keeping an eye on Groundhog Day (still a classic film). Just a quick bit about me, as my bio mentions I'm what I would call a Born Again Geek. I have always been a geek but over the years it has diluted so that my younger student self would have trouble recognising the older me. As I have neared middle age, I have found myself gravitating more into my old geek habits, which was predominately comic books.

I have found I can longer resist the pull of the comic book store and have resorted to buying comic books and other geek items. Really please with one item I purchased today, a limited edition green lantern figurine set. Though I now need to go back to the store to get the missing notice of authenticity, which should be fine. The store I got it from was very friendly and helpful.

Here are a few pics.
